Legends of Learning periodically updates its game bank to ensure the content remains engaging, educational, and aligned with classroom needs. This article explains why certain games may no longer be available and how teachers can find suitable replacements.

Policy on Game Removal

Legends of Learning removes games from the game bank based on teacher and student feedback, including ratings and reviews. The platform prioritizes maintaining a collection of high-quality, engaging games that align with educational standards. Games that receive lower engagement or less favorable reviews are retired to make room for newer games that better meet classroom needs. This proactive approach ensures that the game bank remains relevant and useful for educators and students alike. The process allows the introduction of fresh, innovative games that support a diverse range of learning objectives.

How to Find Alternative Games

If a specific game you enjoyed is no longer available, there are steps you can take to find a replacement:

  1. Search by Educational Standard: Use the Legends of Learning search function to locate games aligned with the same standard or subject area the removed game addressed. This ensures you find content that meets the same learning objectives.

  2. Sort by Category or Theme: Utilize the platform’s filtering options to explore games grouped by themes, grade levels, or subject-specific categories.

  3. Review Ratings and Feedback: Read other teachers’ reviews and insights about available games to make an informed selection.

  4. Explore Teacher Recommendations: Many educators share their favorite games and recommended titles within the platform’s community features such as our Facebook and Instagram accounts. Checking these resources can provide useful suggestions.

By following these steps, you can seamlessly integrate a new game into your curriculum to replace a retired title.

Re-Using Old Assignments

Although it is highly recommended that teachers only use games that are currently available on the platform, we understand that some games have become teacher and student favorites. An alternate option is to duplicate an assignment from prior school years that has the removed game within it.

To duplicate an assignment:

  1. Head to My Assignments and search for the completed assignment that has the removed game.

  2. Select the three dots to the far right and click Duplicate.

3. Your assignment will now be in Draft status. You can make changes and publish by clicking the Edit icon in the Actions column or by clicking the assignment name.

NOTE: If the game was removed due to technical issues, we cannot guarantee that the game will work properly for students once assigned. Use removed games at your own discretion.

Updating classroom content is an integral part of delivering effective and engaging instruction. Legends of Learning is committed to making this process smooth and beneficial for educators and students alike.
