What Is a Teacher Code?
A teacher code is a unique identifier that allows students to connect to their teacher's account in Legends of Learning. This connection enables teachers to assign specific activities, track progress, and manage their classrooms effectively. If a teacher's code is requested during login or gameplay, it is typically used to link a student to their teacher's assignments and activities. However, in some cases, students can proceed without a teacher code.
How to Locate Your Teacher Code
Your teacher code is prominently displayed in the top-right corner of your teacher dashboard in Legends of Learning. This applies to all teacher accounts:
After setting up your teacher account, log in to your dashboard.
Look at the top-right corner of the screen to find your teacher code.
The teacher code is not case-sensitive, making it easy to share with students.
How to Use Teacher Codes
For Teachers
Sharing the Code with Students: Provide your teacher code to students so they can join your class. This is especially useful for students who are not using Google Classroom or another integration, such as Classlink or Canvas.
Creating Assignments: Once students are connected, you can assign activities and track their progress through your teacher dashboard.
For Students
Entering the Teacher Code: Students can enter the teacher code during the login process or by accessing the teacher selection screen. To do this: - Log in to the student account. - Click the graduation cap icon (to the left of the settings wheel) and select "Change Teacher." - Enter the teacher code provided by the teacher.
Joining a Classroom: After entering the teacher code, students will be connected to their teacher's classroom and can access assigned activities.
When is a Teacher Code not required?
In some cases, a teacher's code is not necessary for students to proceed:
Playing Awakening: Students can select the "Play Without Teacher" option if no teacher has assigned them work. This allows them to continue playing without entering a teacher code.
Adventure Pass Subscription: A teacher code is not required to purchase or use an Adventure Pass subscription. However, entering a teacher's code allows students to access their teacher’s assignments and activities.
