NEW UPDATE: An iPad app is available for independent student play. The app, called Legends of Learning Awakening, can be downloaded from the Apple Store today!
Teacher assignments are not accessible through the iPad app.
Student progress from game play within the iPad app can be monitored in the Student Driven section of the reports page.
For questions regarding running Legends of Learning teacher assignments on iPads, please note the following regarding compatibility:
Students will need to access the teacher assignments through Chrome (preferred) or Safari.
Most math games are not compatible on any version of iPad.
Most science games are compatible on iPad 6th Gen (Released in 2018) or newer.
iPads older than iPad 6th Gen will likely show poor performance when running science games.
For best performance, iPads should be running iOS version 15.3.1 or newer.
WebGL 2.0 Should be turned off on the iPad. Most iPads will have WebGL 2.0 on by default and this will likely hinder game performance. How to turn WebGL 2.0 off:
Settings -> Safari -> Advanced -> Experimental Features -> Scroll down and turn off "WebGL 2.0"
Science games that are not compatible with iPads will be missing the iPad icon on the Game Details screen.
You can search and filter for games that are iPad compatible using the Game Features filter.
If you are attempting to run science games on an iPad 6th Gen or newer with an updated iOS version and Web GL 2.0 turned off, and are still experiencing loading issues, please try the following on student devices:
Close out all additional tabs on the web browser
Completely close all background apps running on the iPad
Clear the cookies/cache on the web browser
Update the web browser
After following the above steps, if the games continue to not load for students, please feel free to chat with us or email email@example.com
