What state standards is Legends of Learning aligned with?

Written by Jessica Moyer
Updated over a week ago

Legends of Learning is aligned with the math, science, and middle school US History standards of most U.S. states. This includes Common Core State Standards (CCSS), Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and individual state-specific standards such as TEKS (Texas), SOL (Virginia), NGSSS (Florida), and others.

Alignment is continuously reviewed and updated to reflect state revisions.

Which National Standards Are Supported?

Legends of Learning supports:

  • Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Math

  • Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)

  • State-specific adaptations and revisions

  • Updated state frameworks (e.g., Tennessee Math 2023, Virginia SOL 2018)

Content is mapped at the standard level to ensure instructional alignment.

State Alignment Overview

Legends of Learning currently supports math and science standards for states including:

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

How Is Alignment Determined?

Each game and instructional activity is mapped to specific state standards by subject matter experts. Alignment is determined at the standard-code level, ensuring teachers can assign content that matches required grade-level expectations.

What Standards Does My Account Default To?

When you create an account, your standards alignment automatically defaults to the standards used in your selected state.

You can change this at any time.

How Do I Change My Standards?

  1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner.

  2. Select Account Settings

  3. Scroll to the Standards and Content Library section.

  4. Choose your preferred Science and/or Math standards.

  5. Click Save.

What If My State Is Not Listed?

If you do not see your state alignment, additional standards are added on a rolling basis. You can continue using the closest aligned national framework (such as CCSS or NGSS) in the meantime.
