Legends of Learning's District Admin Console allows district administrators to view data around usage of Legends of Learning. This data is based on activity in Learning Universe assignments and/or Awakening.
Data can be accessed by clicking Analytics then Usage in the left-navigation menu. Or by selecting Usage from your Home page.
To download the data in all tables and charts as a single file, use the Print / Save PDF or Download CSV buttons. These buttons will honor the current filters applied to the report:
Filters
Once the report loads, use the filters provided to view custom data, if needed. The report will reload automatically. The available filters include:
School Year - Easily toggle to prior school year data
Date Range - Defaults to July 1 of the current school year through today
Paid Status - Premium schools/teachers (those with a license), Basic (those without a license) schools/teachers, and/or Student-Driven (Awakening) activity.
Subject Area - Math, Science, and/or Social Studies
Teacher Selected Grade Levels - K-12
Use the school select at the top of the filters to select specific schools, if needed. Be sure to click Apply Changes to reload the report with your filters enabled.
The Activity Type tabs allow you to only show specific types of student activity. The default is to include all types of activity, but you can filter by:
Assignments - shows only the student activity from teacher and district assignments
Awakening Extended Learning - shows only the usage during student-driven play within Awakening
Summary Metrics and Charts
The Summary Metrics data provides you with a summary of the total number of Activities played, Questions Answered, Playtime Hours, Active Students, Active Teachers, and Assignments.
For this and all other charts, click on Definitions for more information about specific metrics.
The Student Count by # Activities graph breaks down the number of games and videos started by students in each grade level. Hover your mouse over each section of the graph to see a detailed report of each section.
Per research conducted by WestEd, students who complete 25+ activities per school year demonstrate significant gains on end of year testing. Students who complete 50+ activities demonstrate even further gains.
This graph will assist with tracking progress toward hitting the 25+ activities across the district. For this and all other charts, you can click Download to save the images as a .png or to download the raw numbers as a .csv.
The next section of the reports showcases usage of Legends of Learning month over month. The following usage metrics are provided:
Total Active Teachers - Total number of teachers who have actively used Legends per month.
Total Active Students - Total number of students within your district who have used utilized the Legends of Learning platform per month.
Additionally, each of the following month over month usage metrics are available by assignment type (district v. teacher) and by subject:
Activities Started - Total number of games and videos students have engaged in.
Questions Answered - Total number of questions that have been answered by students.
Total Assignments Played - Total number of assignments that students have started.
Playtime - How many hours students have engaged in Legends of Learning.
Data Tables
The tables that follow will highlight usage data for each school, teacher, and student in your district that is utilizing Legends of Learning. They can be sorted by ascending/descending order for any column. The tables will indicate important metrics such as:
Active Teachers - The number of teachers at the school that have students actively utilizing Legends of Learning.
Active Students - The number of students that are actively utilizing Legends of Learning per school/teacher.
Activities Started - The number of minigames and video lessons students opened, whether or not they finished them.
Activities Completed - The number of minigames and video lessons students played all the way through to completion.
Average Activities / Active Student - The average number of games and videos started per active student.
Assignments - The total number of assignments that students have started.
Playtime (hrs) - The total number of hours that students have engaged in Legends of Learning.
Questions Answered - The total number of questions that students have answered in Legends of Learning.
For any of these tables, you can use the Download button to download the data as a .csv. You can also use the search bar in the top right corner to quickly find specific students, teachers, or schools:
Additionally, the School data table includes a View Report button to the right of each school in the list. Click this to quickly change the Usage report scope to view that specific school's data:
