Students can play Awakening in one of two modes:
Teacher Assignment Mode
When students have an active teacher assignment, they complete the assigned content in the Learning Labyrinth. After completing the assignment, Awakening free play unlocks, but the learning content students encounter will continue to reinforce the topics connected to the assignment they just completed.
Awakening Free Play
Students can also explore Awakening without a teacher assignment. In free play, the topics students work through are determined by the grade level and subject selected in their Awakening Settings.
Tracking Progress in Awakening
Students can track their progress through learning topics at any time while playing Awakening.
To view their progress, students select the graduation cap icon.
On the progress page, students can see:
What they are currently working on
Topics they have already completed
Topics they will encounter next
This gives students a clear picture of where they are in their learning progression and what is coming up.
Students will see Review Topics when they are working through content tied to a teacher-assigned Focus Area. They may also remain in Review Topics during Awakening free play after completing a teacher assignment, while Awakening continues to reinforce the assigned content.
As students demonstrate mastery of a topic, they earn a star and can progress to the next topic.
Students can earn up to three stars per topic, so encourage them to keep practicing and become true masters of their learning!
NOTE:
Students must master all teacher-assigned Focus Areas before returning to the standard Awakening unit progression.
When multiple Focus Areas have been assigned, the progress page displays them one at a time and in the order they were assigned. Once a student earns at least one star on the current Focus Area, the next assigned Focus Area will appear.
If a student is struggling with a topic, Awakening may offer an easier, prerequisite topic to help build the background knowledge they need. After mastering the prerequisite content, the student can return to the original topic and try again.
