Understanding the Difference Between Teacher Accounts and Parent Accounts on Legends of Learning
Legends of Learning provides different types of accounts to suit the needs of teachers, parents, and students. Understanding how Teacher Accounts and Parent Accounts work—and how they can be combined with optional features like the Adventure Pass—will help you choose the setup that fits your needs.
Account Types
Teacher Accounts
Teacher accounts are designed for creating, assigning, and managing learning activities for students. There are two types available:
Free Teacher Account: Create and assign tailored assignments to students with different types of activities. Monitor student progress on assignments in a high-level view. This option is popular among homeschool educators for managing small groups of students.
Paid Teacher Account: Includes all the functionalities of the free account. Adds advanced features such as unlimited assignment creation, detailed student performance reports, customizable assessments, and access to hands-on lesson plans and professional development resources for schools. This option is highly recommended for regular classroom teachers.
Parent Accounts
Parent accounts are designed to allow parents or guardians to monitor their children's learning progress. With a parent account, you can:
Access to data related to your child's mastery of topics in Awakening.
Manage your child's account settings, including username, password, and grade level.
Option to purchase Adventure Passes for specific additional learning options like Math Basecamp.
Adventure Passes: An Optional Learning Boost
The Adventure Pass is an optional subscription available for students in Awakening. It can be purchased through a parent account or a student account. For classrooms, a school license is required to acquire this adder. When parents purchase an Adventure Pass, it:
Unlocks Math Basecamp, an engaging program for practicing math facts.
Unlocks exclusive in-game features within Awakening.
Is licensed per child, allowing content to be relevant for each child's learning progression.
Many homeschooling families combine a Free Teacher Account with Adventure Passes to assign instructional content while also giving students access to Math Basecamp.
Common Use Cases
For Teachers and Educators
Classroom Use: Paid teacher accounts provide powerful tools for managing assignments, tracking detailed data, integrating with LMS platforms, and customizing assessments.
Homeschooling: Free teacher accounts work well for small groups and can be enhanced with individual Adventure Passes for additional content (Math Basecamp).
For Parents
Self-Directed Learning: Parent accounts support independent learning at the student’s grade level. Adventure Passes enhance this learning experience by providing extended tools such as Math Basecamp and additional engaging features within Awakening for students.
Combined Setup: Parents can use a Free Teacher Account for structured assignments and a Parent Account for independent exploration and extra resources such as the Adventure Pass and the math fact fluency program.
By understanding how each account type works—and how they can be combined—you can create a Legends of Learning experience that best supports your educational goals.
