Math Basecamp consists of five phases – Assess, Activate, Recall, Establish, and Practice. Each day students login they will go through all 5 steps, starting at the assessment step. Generally, all five steps can be completed in a 15-20 minute session.
It may seem like progress is not saving to students as they will work through the same steps each day - repairing the helicopter, cleaning up the camp, learning new facts, then building camp.
However, as long as students are making it through the Establish step in their session, their overall progress is being saved each day. The facts students encounter will change as they continue to master the facts they are working on.
