Awakening includes limited social features designed to support student engagement while maintaining a safe and secure learning environment. Student interactions are intentionally restricted and do not include open communication tools.
Legends of Learning is committed to student privacy and safety and is fully compliant with both the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Can Students Communicate With Each Other?
No. Awakening does not allow students to communicate with each other in any form.
Students cannot use:
Text chat
Direct messaging
Voice chat
Emojis or reactions
Preset phrases or canned responses
There are no communication channels available between students within the game.
What Information Can Students See About Other Players?
Students can only view limited information about other student players who are signed into Awakening at the same time, or who have been added as friends. This includes:
Avatar appearance
Avatar name
Beastie collection
Knowledge level
Awakening house
Personally identifiable information is never provided.
Are There Multiplayer or Cooperative Features?
Yes. Awakening includes several multiplayer or cooperative gameplay experiences tied directly to educational gameplay. These include:
These activities focus on gameplay and learning objectives rather than social communication.
Can Teachers or Parents Disable Social Features?
Currently, there are no separate controls to disable the limited social features while still allowing access to the educational content.
However, Awakening’s social functionality is intentionally limited and centered around the educational experience. Students cannot communicate directly with one another, and the available interactions are restricted to viewing limited gameplay-related profile information for friends.
