For targeted instruction within Awakening, teachers can assign focus areas for students! Students will work on the topics assigned until the topic(s) have been mastered.

NOTE: This feature is currently not recommended if your students use iPads to access assignments.

To include a timed Awakening session, check out this article.

To get started, click the Create Assignment button from your home page.

Then, click Add New in the content section.

Scroll down to the Awakening Section and select Mastery Focus Areas. Then click the Select This button.

Choose either Math or Science.

Then, search for the standard(s) you want to assign. You can search by keyword, topic, or standard code.

Click the focus area to add it to the list of topics your students will be assigned in Awakening. You can select multiple topics.

When selecting multiple topics, you have the option to drag and drop topics using the black dots on the left. The order in which you place the topics is the order in which your students will have to progress through the topics within Awakening.

After selecting the topic(s) you wish to assign and setting the order, click Assign Focus.

Each standard assigned will show up as an activity in your assignment.

Be sure to give your assignment a name, set the dates, and select the audience.

Ready to assign? Click Publish Now.

NOTE:

  • Students will experience content related to the assigned focus areas when answering questions within the Awakening School and Awakening Town.

  • Student progress and performance on assigned focus areas can be monitored just like you can with any other Legends of Learning assignment!
