NOTE: District assignments are only available to partners with a district-level license. District Administrators can log in here. If you have a district-level license and need access to your District Admin Console, please contact us at support@legendsoflearning.com.

To get started creating your own assignment set, select the Manage tab on the left-navigation menu.

Then, select the option to +Add New in the upper-right corner.

Setting Up Your Assignment Set

Begin by naming your assignment set. Before adding content to your assignment set, first select the grade level(s) and state standard the assignment set is intended for.

The optional Teachers filter allows you to narrow down the students that will have access to the assignment set.

Choose schools and/or teachers you wish to have the assignment set pushed out to. When you're done, click on the I'm Done button in the bottom-right corner.

Adding Content to Assignments

Use the + Add New Assignment button to create individual assignments within your assignment set.

Click the + button to start adding content.

Use the search bar to search by a keyword or a standard code. You can find relevant topics, games, and videos. Learn more about the different types of activities available for assignments here.

When adding games, you can filter by game type, game features (Supports TTS, Saves Progress, Supports iPad, and/or Spanish Translation), and Lexile Levels.

Click the tiles to learn more about the games and videos. The multi-colored squares on the right display the built-in game features and you can view the curriculum integration by clicking on the drop-down menu across the bottom of the popup.

You also have the ability to try the game from the student perspective or view a short preview of the game.

Click the Assign button to add the game or video lesson to your assignment.

Use the + button to add more games and/or video lessons into your assignment. You can also embed an external video or add a curated assessment into the assignment.

Use the + Add New Assignment button to add additional assignments into your assignment set.

Use the + Add Summative Assessment button to add an end-of-unit summative assessment into your assignment set.

Note: If you don't see a new assignment, assessment, or activity in your assignment set after adding, simply refresh your page. All progress and edits will be saved and the new item should show.

To update the activities within your assignments, click into the assignment and either use the dots on left to reorder the activities or use the trash can to remove them.

You can set the dates for the assignments within the assignment set by selecting Edit Assignment Dates and begin by selecting a start date for the assignment set.

By default, all assignments and assessments are set to begin on the start date of the assignment set, and will be active for 7 days.

On this chart you can change the duration of individual assignments or summative assessments by clicking and dragging the right edge of the assignment block. You can also change the dates the assignment or assessment will be available to students by clicking and dragging the six-dot button until the block spans the desired dates.

Additionally, you have the option to bulk edit assignments. To do so, start by clicking and dragging within the calendar to select all the assignments you wish to edit.

The selected assignments will have a grey border around them, and the Bulk Edit button will now be available to click. Then, choose Set Start and End Dates to choose new start and end dates for all selected assignments.

A popup window will appear, prompting you to select the new dates. This feature may be particularly helpful if you are editing a large number of assignments and/or assessments, or need to make the assignment available to students for further than two to three weeks into the future.

Publishing Assignment Sets

Once you have finished creating your assignment set, send it out to teachers and students by selecting the blue Publish button in the bottom-right corner.

If you are not ready to publish your assignment you can leave the assignment as a draft (your work is always auto-saved).

You will then see a pop up confirming who will have access to the assignment set. Here are a few important reminders regarding your published assignment sets:

  • Encourage your teachers sign into their Legends of Learning accounts (if they haven't yet this school year) to confirm their grade level(s). This will ensure that everyone who should be receiving the assignment set has access to it.

  • Published assignment sets can no longer be edited.

If you are ready to move forward, select the Yes, Publish button.
